About Oswego Film Group

The Oswego Film Group (OFG)  is committed to fostering a community of interested filmgoers in Oswego, New York, expanding the film offerings for the area, offering out-of-the-mainstream films–and discussions about them.

The group was founded in 2005. Working in conjunction with Conrad Zurich’s Oswego Cinema 7, the group presented its first offering, Hotel Rwanda. OFG continued to present screenings at the downtown theatre, Film Movement offerings at the Francis Marion Brown theatre at Fort Ontario,  and other screenings on the SUNY Oswego campus and other area venues.

Since the fall of 2008, the group has focused on free screenings in the Oswego Public Library’s Community Room and on the SUNY Oswego campus. Informal discussions follow the screenings. The group periodically meets at a regularly scheduled showing of a film at the Oswego Cinema 7 and afterwards discusses the film.

The group is also on Facebook.
